JayJay007
My friend has given me his Celestron Nexstar 102 SLT, very nice of him! He hasn't used it since 2005 and I'm finding it very difficult to align it! I'm trying to follow the brief quick set up guide but it's asking me strange questions, solar sys alignment, auto two star, sky align etc I'm a bit lost can anyone give me a few tips! Would it be easier if I was to connect a pc via ethernet cable!?
johninderby
Think this is the right full manual. Haven’t used an SLT mount in many years. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/85018.pdf
Cosmic Geoff
The auto two star is probably the one to try, unless you have no clue which alignment star is which - in which case use the sky align. If you just want to observe, e.g. Venus, then use the solar system align. Would it be easier if I was to connect a pc via ethernet cable!? I doubt it. It doesn't connect via Ethernet, but by a combination of serial and USB, with adapter. Edited December 5, 2021 by Cosmic Geoff
