ASI2600MC Pro - grid pattern, StarXterminator

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've been revisiting old data to try out the new StarXterminator plugin for Photoshop.

I have a grid appearing on some of the images.   This did *not* appear without the plugin.  Have browsed and not really come up with a definitive answer.  Especially on how to avoid and fix in post.

The original stack didn't have darks or flats.  Starless version and previous version processed without StarXterminator attached.

Any thoughts??

Thanks in anticipation.  Paul.

You probably stacked with DSS and you have slight rotation between first and last frame.

This is artifact of bilinear interpolation and the way it impacts SNR depending on ratio of adjacent pixels used.

Easiest fix would be to use latest version of Siril and register images using some other interpolation method - like Lanczos 4 in Siril.

If you are using other software for stacking than DSS - change interpolation method used for aligning images.
