Problem SkyWatcher 130/650 Mini AZ-GTE WIFI Reflector Telescope

Hi, I've just been given my first telescope, a SkyWatcher 130/650 Mini AZ-GTE WIFI Reflector Telescope. The problem I'm having is that when I use the SynScan app to GOTO the moon or a planet, the telescope moves in the opposite direction. Tonight the moon is viewable in the north-east sky, but the telescope went north-west when using synscan. I'm sure it's because I set something up wrong but I can't work out what. My location is correct in the app.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ensure the telescope is level and pointing north before beginning alignment. Also check the time is correct.

Also , make sure you are mounting the scope on the left side of the az-gti, when using it in alt az mode

would the op have to point it south ? as hes in the southern hemisphere ? or is that me over thinking it

It's pointing south for alignment. Thanks for responding so quickly
