M42 dsi/finderscope lens

I took an old 50mm finderscooplens, and place it in front of the DSI with some other different stuff to get in focus.

Put it on a heq5 , let it track orion, no guiding

Took some 30sec frames 20x lum and 5x each rgb

Stackt and levels in Photoshop

Here's the result ( only with modded dsi, no scoop)

Very nice, the DSI is an undervaulued camera in my opinion.

On the color cams the nosepiece can be removed and your left with a t-thread to which you can attach "t-thread" equipped lenses needs some additional spacing in there as the distance isnt right.

I made some 1.25" adaptors using rear lens caps, attached a tripod bush to the DSI Case and used this for widefiedl shots.

They make VGood guidecams as well

Very impressive !

I'm still toying with the idea of modifying a "straight thru 9x50 finderscope" for guiding, not too different.
