A problem with my GT mount

Evening all.

I got the 'no response 17' error tonight, which I've read means that the handset is not communicating properly with my dec. motor.

I've read that there are some simple causes for this, which I'm sure I can figure out, but my scope seems to want to do nothing but slew on the dec. axis all night long.

Can the miscommunication between the handset and the motor cause this to happen, or should I be a little more worried?

Hi Ben,

The first thing I would check is the power supply. This can cause a lot of problems. Recheck the connections as well. Bent pins on the connector can cause similar problems.

Have a look here. They have an FAQ which is a goldmine of bits and bobs related to Celestrons Goto mounts. You'll need to join/register I think but it's free and worth it.

I think I read somewhere that error 17 was something to do with the voltage supplied to the mount.
