Couple of shots with an ED120. Seeing started off pretty good but rapidly deteriorated  as the temperature fell. Its a bit like fishing this game ! You never know what you will get

Cheers Wouter. As you well know the seeing is so critical. The moon was high and clear but the atmosphere had other plans !! I think it was cooling that fast the scope couldn't keep up with the changes .

I was out catching similar shots last night but have yet to process them. I tend to shoot in twilight as I find that this is when the seeing is at its best. Once it gets really dark and the earth starts cooling down, turbulence seems to rear its ugly head. I guess things get more stable as the night goes on. All this, of course, is down to my personal experience and location. Others may have differing views. Nice shots by the way

Thanks Roy. It seems such a mixed bag sometimes. I've had the reverse when the seeing has been poor and suddenly settles down but I'm sure you are right that the location plays a big part. Trevor
