GASSENDI IDEALLY PLACED - NOW!

Recommended Posts

Superb here up until about 30 minutes ago when the cloud thickened up considerably blotting things out. I can see the moon through it but resolution is very limited now. Earlier it was truly wonderful. Gassendi was, as you say Paul, a real show stopper !

Glad you had a good view John.  When I wrote the post the seeing really was excellent, best Ive had for some time. The detail in the Tecnosky 102ED was fabulous.  The seeing got worse about ten minutes later, but it was still good until the cloud came in.

Quite spectacular for a brief period before thick cloud had rolled across. John's rousing announcement in his thread, hastened a look outside to see that it was clear. Gassendi and the Rupes Liebig mountains that link into his vicinity was just quite awesome and was gobbling up the power available. The deep well of Hainzel also caught my attention, illumination was superb. Could had spent hours had the cloud, though as forecast, not rolled in.
