How long does a set of batteries last on one of these scopes....can you change it so that it runs from a car battery or similar.

Has the explorer 130p supa trak actually got a parabolic mirror as in the specification it doesnn't mention it???

And can you use the motor without having to use the goto and also can idiots use the motor or is it very tricky??

I don't know how long the internal batteries last, a powertank or a regulated dc supply would be better than a car battery. Lead acid car batteries don't like the charge / discharge / charge cycle. A deep cycle battery ( leisure battery or power tank) is preferable.

A parabolic mirror is mentioned on the FLO website.

In the HEQ5/EQ6 handcontroller the goto can be skipped and the handbox used to control ra/dec directly, so I expect the same with the alt/az goto.

are you entering the actual time it is, not just what your time zone is? if the mount thinks it's the wrong time it will think that objects are in different places to where they really are
