HEQ5 PRO Orientating Polar Sope Reticule

Hi Guys. 

Totally new to the game, 

Got my HEQ5 PRO a few days ago, and thought of doing some initial steps today, and it has the New Polar Scope Engraving, where you have the three circles like a clock, and there is no image of  Big Dipper or Cassiopeia.

When going through the manual at page 12 for Orientating Polar Scope Reticule, I rotated the RA till I got the 0 and 6 in the vertical axis with 0 on top,

BUT, the Counter Wt rod is pointing up into the sky ?

I though the Counter wt rod should point downwards to the earth. 

 

So am I supposed to open some grub screws in the cope, and remove the scope and then rotate it correctly and fit it back so that 0 is pointing up. 

 

I guess once I get this right, only then should I do the Aligning the Polar Scope Reticule, by looking at a far off object, and rotating the RA and making adjustments to three Grub Screws.

You do not need to reorientate the reticule - just make sure when you are polar aligning that Polaris is aligned to the correct 'time' on the 'clock face'.  So, using an app, if Polaris is shown to be at 4 o'clock then just make sure the position matches up.  It doesn't matter what the number says on the reticule at all...
