LRGB imaging - Am I doing it right?

Recommended Posts

I tried my hand at LRGB last night for the first time, but I would like confirmation that I am doing it right.

I have the cheap Baader LRGB set and I know that I HAVE to use the IR block filter in conjunction with the R, G & B and I assume that, when acquiring the L, I also have to shoot through the IR block - is this correct?

(I know that no one told me that LRGB was easy, but...!).

TIA

Steve

If you want all the channels to be par focal then yes. However, you could use the IR block as your luminence filter and then and then readjust everything for the RGB using the colour filters and IR block in combination. This would have the advantage of taking out an unnecessary filter for the luminence capture.
