Quick question for owners of Altair Wave 115 EDT please

Can someone please tell me how the dew shield "locks"?

It's described as "lockable" in the spec, but doesn't explain how, and with no instructions supplied, I just can't see how to do it 😞

I"ve tried fully extending it, and rotating 360+ degrees in both directions, but nothing. I've asked on AA's FB page, and been told there's a thumb screw, but there isn't.

So, I'm sure I must be missing something glaringly obvious, but I have no idea what.

Sounds like you're missing the thumb screw, is there no threaded hole near the back end of the shield ?

No, nothing at all like that. Is yours on the underside?

   On the 80  Wave EDT there is an obvious thumb screw, could it be missing?

looking at the  2017  115 it doesn't look as chunky as  the  1st model 80 dewshield

You can just see in this image that it should be on the rear flange of the dew shield.

If the thumb screw IS missing, then there's no obvious place for it to go, so either the dew shield is missing the hole, or it's there, but painted over. 

I think a closer inspection is called for.

If someone could post a quick piccie of theirs, so I can see exactly where to look, it would be really appreciated 🙂

Had anther look, and nothing - the rear, bevelled silver bit has 3 grub screws in it, which I presume is what's holding it together, but nothing else. I'll attach a pic of the underside of mine:

Strange, mine doesn't have any grub screws. Looks like a design change and maybe you need to nip up the grub screws to lock the shield.

OK, well thanks for trying to help. I think I'm going to have to get back in touch with Altair for an answer - so frustrating that they never supplied instructions with any of the kit that I've bought from them 😞
