Serial Digital Interface - what is it and can a PC output to it??

Ok, needing some help or advice here.  

Is it possible to use the output from a PC running an EEVA camera, to send that as a signal via via the BNC connector/SDI, to an existing set up of multiple screens?    If so what parts do I need?
