12v DC power car adapter replacement for HEQ5 pro

Recommended Posts

Hello all.  So I made a mistake earlier this morning and wasn't paying attention to my cable, and while the mount was slewing, the "power supply" part of the 12v cable that is provided with the HEQ5 pro got caught behind the locking mechanism and eventually pulled the wire out of the plug head of the cable.  No visible damage to the mount plug in, but the cable needs to be replaced, does anyone have possible suggestions on a replacement that will be sufficient?  Thanks

Sorry for the late reply Dave, and thanks for the suggestion!  I was hoping to find an alternative I can get in the US, but no luck so far, at least not one with this build quality.

Long term. Think about swapping the cigar lighter connector for something better.
It was after all designing as a cigar lighter. Not a 'must be reliable' power connector.
If you have to pay someone to fit a new plug, consider replacing the power supply socket by an XLR series connector.
These are popular for stage use and not expensive.
