Tonights News - Capella area

Hi all, I have just been walking the mutt and looking about as normal for shooting stars etc... Anyway in the Capella area I "think" I saw a star go bang. Well it went very bright and pulsed before backing down to a background brightness.

Any idea where I can find if this was a real thing?

You could have seen a meteor that was heading directly for you, you would see no trail just a bright blob

Stars can go bang but it is so rare to see.

Could it be atmospheric conditions. A gap off good seeing suddenly making a star look alot brighter.

Nice metor at 19:32 running just to the east of the pointers in Ursa Major...
