That was the single reason I got into gyros.  They LOVE the wind.  Gusts don't matter, once you have a bit of time under your belt.  You don't get slammed.  I still have a Beech Bonanza and sometimes go to the airport to fly it....end up flying the gyro if it is gusty so I don't get beat up.
