Polar alignment using PHD2

I'm now set up with eqmod, APT and Carte du Ciel and I started looking at PHD2 for guiding but this question is not about guiding. I see that PHD2 has a facility to assist with drift polar alignment. I use a canon 450D on a SW200PDS with an HEQ5pro for imaging. Is it possible to set up PHD2 to do the drift alignment with this setup? I don't want to buy a guide scope and camera at present but it would be useful if I could get my polar alignment better with what I already have.

I would just use the standard drift alignment routine. I think NINA has it to make it easier or you can just use eqmod.

PHD2 requires a guidecamera, not a DSLR, so use the DARV method that Mark pointed to,
