Learning the constellations

Hi, I am trying to learn the constellations but I cannot seem to find any good web sites or tools. does anybody know of any good websites or methods for learning the constellations?

it's awesome for learning the sky because you can set it up to look like the sky as you see it and highlight the different constellations.

Twelve years ago, I started out with this book and highly recommend it for anyone who's interested in the night sky but doesn't want to get buried under too much initial info. (It's been republished but I assume the contents are the same.)

Also, you might want to do a websearch on 'astronomy for beginners' or something similar.. there's probably tons of info out there. You may even find some printable monthly 'all sky' maps.

Try your library and book store, too.

Another great book for learning your way around the night sky just has to be turn left at Orion it is a truely superb book very easy to read and to learn from and this coupled with stellarium will have you familiar with the night sky in next to no time

A good planisphere is useful for "out in the field" work.

Coupled with a good pair of binoculars you'll soon learn your way around.
