Konus Konusmotor-130 Telescope

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I think you would be better buying the Skywatcher 130pm:

http://www.firstlightoptics.com/proddetail.php?prod=s130pm

The Skywatcher offers the same function but has better optics - the Konusmotor 130 uses a catadioptric newtonian optical system to squeeze a 1000mm focal length into a short tube - the image quality provided by these systems, at this price, is not as good as a conventional newtonian (which the Skywatcher is) in my opinion.

Hope that helps,

John

Thanks for the info on the konus scope ,I will have a re-think .

Thats no problem :(

Some of the Konus scopes further up the range, I think they do an 8 inch newtonian and a 4.7 in refractor, are fine and will work well. I had an 80mm F/5 refractor of theirs which was also a nice little scope - it was a clone of the Skywatcher ST80 in Konus's rather jolly Orange / Yellow colours. You just have to be a bit careful with some of their offerings.
