New Tripod for Giro Help

Hi Folks ive got one of Arthurs Giro type mounts which came with a EQ5 tripod but as im now refractor only the EQ5 tripod aint tall or sturdy enough for my needs.....ie mounting a 6"achro and 4"apo side by side....can any one suggest a cost effective tripod option ? and is the central thread for EQ5 and EQ6 heads the same.

Have you tried using the 8" skywatcher extension on the tripod? that might help with the height.

Thanks for your help Ian...i have seen these but i reckon with the weight of the

scopes and extras ive added im gonna need a more robust tripod....perhaps a 2"

legged EQ5/HEQ5 one may suffice if thats taller?

The cetnral thread on a eq5 is M10 and the eq6 is M12...................

It will have to be an M10 then as thats what the mount thread is!!!

What about an CG5 tripod as thats got 2" legs...but is it any

taller than a reg EQ5 tripod ?.

same height, but you can get an eq5 extension that will fit
