How many "M" objects can you find without no help?

Just thought of something that might help those who feel a bit lost under dark skies. Would it help to hold a filter over one eye? Maybe the dark blue one or a Moon filter. I'm not too sure how many of the lesser magnitude stars it would mask, but it might help dim them just enough to help you get your bearings.

Following Talitha's lead and being abit forgetful with names i would have to say that i could find Messier's with my fingers crossed,

1,3,13,15,27,29,31,32,33,35,39,42,43,44,45,49,51,52,53,57,58,59,60,61,63,64,65,66,74,81,82,84,86,

87,88,89,90,91,92,95,96,97,101,103,105,108,109,110

seems like alot :hello2: but their is alot of galaxies in there and they tend to come in groups so i if you can find one the rest will follow,

their were others like the galaxy M106 i think i found it but not sure? :D

All of the open clusters in the milky way, i don't look at them so didn't include but am sure with practice i could add them to the list too,

P.s. i did find 30 messiers in one night at a dark sky without a chart cos my lappy run out of battery and i didn't want to waste the chance to use a 12'' dob with good collimation :)
