Arp 278 and NGC 7331

Hi,

Arp 278 in Pegasus , NGC 7253 is a fascinating pair of interacting galaxies about 200 million light years away. The gravitational interactions have twisted the pair and in better images faint extended parts of the galaxies are visible. What a galactic mess they are.

NGC 7331 in Pegasus is always worth a look as there is so much interesting detail. Known as the Deer Lick group. Info suggests that the 7331 disk is slightly warped but folk are not sure what has caused this. The nearby galaxies x 4 are not responsible as in fact they are much further away.

Thanks Bill. By using a large aperture scope then detail can  be gathered quickly. I much prefer  quick results rather than waiting. I now have 4 shots of NGC 7331 from a 24", a 15", a 11" and a 9". I might post them for comparison. Mike
