Can I use a Neximage 5 or zwo 120 type camera on a non motorized XT8?

Hi guys

Sorry if this is a silly question, but are cameras like the Neximage 5 or zwo 120 any use on a standard XT8? Just curious if they can be used with non motorized mounts. Total newbie with regards to astrophotography..

Your problem will be keeping your subject on target. For planetary and lunar imaging, it might be possible to keep the object in near enough the same position by 'nudging' while observing through the finder so that the stacking software (registax) can produce a sort of decent result.

Not the easy way of doing it and don't expect too great a result, but it might inspire you to work towards a tracking mount ...

As for DSO's - forget it!

The zwo is the better of the two I think. The neximage 5 is extremely noisy on any exposure length other than incredibly fast as you might use for the Moon.
