A valiant Jupiter

As we all know here in the Northern latitudes, Jupiter and Saturn are really badly placed right now.

They're so low that neither of them even clear my garage roof so I haven't had the opportunity to observe them this season with my 'proper' telescopes. However, I ventured out this evening with my little 90mm f/13.88 Mak on an AZ GOTO mount and captured just 200 frames of Jupiter with my IMG132e cam. This little beast is a real sod to focus, especially with terrible seeing and the camera was operating at 1/10 second @ 4 fps, but I was pleasantly surprised to actually even capture a little bit of detail! I reckon I might even be able to capture the GRS.

I was great to make a little effort to see an old friend! From left to right, that's Ganymede, Europa, Io and Callisto.
