Almost nothing went right (Pelican in Ha)

After four hours of work, I had 14 minutes of Ha data on the Pelican and Ha, with no guiding to speak of.

The result should have totally sucked, but it sucks only a bit! Yay?

"Supposed to be fun" -- you're quoting my wife from my previous dropping-the-OTA post, right? Because that's exactly what she said. Softly, with a hand on my arm. I actually met a couple of pals for beer and talk at one of their houses, which backs onto a big nature preserve. So the evening wouldn't have been a loss even if the imaging yielded nothing.

I love it I have a weakness for HA images in B&W though and would love to get into that kind of imaging myself in the future.

An old-school photographer myself, I never really liked B&W astro -- until I wound up with Ha-only data on some targets and, willy-nilly, had to go there.

And I like it a LOT! As with terrestrial photography, some things are way better in color, but for many, it's all about that tone, that tone, no chroma :-).
