A question for the electricians...

I've bought an LED rope light from B&Q - designed as Christmas decoration, but thought it might work well as ground level lighting in the Obs . It is a bit bright though I think. Is there any way of stepping down the brightness?

Try a lower voltage if you can.

This depends on the power supply.

The way to dim leds is to use PWM. You rig up a circuit that will switch them on and off very rapidly.

Thanks for the replies guys. This sparked a memory for me. I bought a dimmer plug from lidl a while ago. I've just tried it and it seems to work brilliantly (or dimmerly ), but before I put it on long term is there any problem with doing this?

mmm... might get one for the NS8GPS at star parties, its always getting bumped into because people just dont see it (being black and all that)

Are they too bright for use at a Star Party? Dimming them won't be a problem... i can soon sort that out...
