Feathertouch focuser finderscope bracket.

Recommended Posts

Hello. Recent scope purchase came with a 2in FT focuser.

Looking to mount the dependable SW finders-cope 9 x 50 ( synta  type foot) to the focuser. Currently on the clamshell. Can cope with it but not the best. Only seem to be able to find brackets for 2.5 / 3 in FT focuser.

Scope is a few years old but in excellent nick. Has the mounting shoe for a 2 in focuser been discontinued me thinks.

If so, any alternative suggestions.

Thanks in advance. John

I fashioned a finder mount from a cheap Sky-Watcher scope ring for my 2” Feathertouch - no other option on the focuser itself. Idea gratefully received from another SGL member Matthew.

Hello all.

Was thinking a dedicated FT option was not available.

Mark - could you confirm what ring you purchased so I can give this a try.  SW 90 mm im guessing from our friends at FLO ?

Thanks in advance.

A 76mm tube ring fits perfectly around the 2" Feathtouch and then you are free to mount the finder on it and position as you require.  See below for my Tak FC-76 solution.

Edit: I see Mark beat me to the punch.

Annoying thing is this size of SW ring was not available from any UK retailer a couple of months ago - I got mine from Germany - however, it means I have a spare, so if you’re interested John i’m happy to let you have it at no cost
