Apt - configuring for temp sensor

So my new autofocus unit with temp sensor has landed so I need to configure APT  I have been using an autofocuser so know how to use APT  to focus , what fluctuation in temperature am I looking at before having to refocus  ,  One degree ?  And does the focus adjust automatically on the fly or do I have to stop and go through the focus procedure , any tips setting up temp sensor in Apt welcome  TIA .
