Filter Offsets Frequency

Hi all,

Using the Baader Filters, I have offsets configured in SGP to speed up the auto focus process.

How often should this be rechecked?    Is it something to just do and forget until something in the image train changes, or is it good practice to recalculate every so often?

I've been performing automated focusing via focus offsets for a while now and I've found that with my set up, provided that you initially calculate your focus offsets correctly and nothing in your imaging train changes, then they remain permanently accurate.

The problem is trying to work out if the focus offsets have been calculated accurately or not.  My setup uses different software to yourself (FocusMax and ACP), however, you might found the following link useful which discusses how I compared two sets of focus offset results and attempted to work out which set is the best one to use.
