Hi, ive had a SW 127 Mak for a couple of years and has given me some great planetary views,  After recently acquiring a SW EQ6 Pro ive ventured into more DSO's attaching my Canon 450D via T ring directly to  the Mak. The Orion Nebula fills the field of view but im having great fun starting my astro photography journey.

Ive recently been looking into a SW 72ED DS Pro (the 80 just out of my price range atm)

with the guide bundle below

https://www.firstlightoptics.com/guide-cameras/sky-watcher-evoguide-50ed-guidescope-zwo-asi120mm-bundle.html

and possibly  the ZWO ASI 120MC-S USB 3.0 Colour Camera as an imagng camera

https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi120mc-s-usb-3-colour-camera.html

I currrently use a Celestron Starsense for skywatcher goto system  though having some alignment problem due to the narrow field of view. I will probably sell this after aquiring the above.

Im wondering do i need anything else to complete the setup, any other options to what i have above in the same price range?

thanks for any help, insight and advice, very much appreciated.

Tony

Yes, for imaging you'll need at least the flattener for the 72ED, forget imaging with the Canon without one of these. + clearly adapters as needed.

There is a specific thread on the SW 72ED here around.

Not really, since for guiding you need very short exposures, and for imaging, very long ones.

If your imaging exposures are very short (eg. EAA) you don’t really need to guide.

If they are very long, then you definitely do!
