What is telescope good for?

Recommended Posts

I'm new to all this and bought my first telescope about a month ago which is an explore Scientific 127mm 1900mm mak and I have the 25mm eyepeice that came with it as well as a 16mm Orion ef,  svbony 9mm and a 5xand 2x Barlow none of which I've used yet even and just last week because tend to go nuts when I get a new hobby I already ordered a 2nd telescope which is an explore Scientific 102ar doublet with a 18mm explore Scientific 82 degree eyepiece and just today ordered the 30mm version as well in the same series and I think those are all the 2in eyepeices I want to get since they are expensive.    I would like to know what Tele and eye is good for what and any advice for a newbie.

You now have two telescopes that will complement each other. The Maksutov will  offer high power detailed views and the refractor can give excellent low power wide angle views. Each does things that the other cannot easily do. Best of both worlds!    ?
