Hubble udf reprocess

I've no doubt folks have seen mentions in the news about the reclaimed 'lost light' image of the Hubble udf:

I was intrigued when they said it took them 3 years to do so I looked up the paper:

Hmm... complicated! I was wondering if I could use their pipeline to improve some of my images.... But really I just need darker skies and more data!

Interesting. I like the way flats were created; not exactly DSS compatible. But now I understand why it took them 3 years.

Clear skies would also be appreciated. That's the reason it would take me 3 years to finish an image.

Yes indeed - I meant to say clear also! The lack of them is one reason I've (partly) moved over to live stacking of luminance only - it's quick and simple!
