It was quite an interesting discussion, which revealed how little we know about Venus despite it being our closest planetary neighbour, and how few probes have been sent there compared to Mars. All the more surprising considering that the atmospheric pressure and temperature conditions at high altitude are comparable to earth's (apart from the sulphuric acid, etc!) and that basic life could even be possible.
