Just for fun, all comet no stars... ☄

Seeing as the H-alpha imagers get all exited about 'starless' images of nebulas, now about the comet-only stack from DSS? This is 90 minute worth so you can see that after a bit of processing  the sigma-kappa has removed all of the stars except a faint 'striation' pattern along the direction of travel of the comet.

Not so sure about this one Neil  ? - stars seem to add differentiation if that makes sense ?

Different for sure, but not as good as your truly excellent earlier version with stars.  I think you show the value of the sigma stack though.   Mono imagers like me wouldn’t stand a chance of getting realistic colour images without this technique being available.

Agreed  - it's really just for fun, and perhaps to show how good DSS is at removing the stars in comet mode! But without the stars added back in it has no scale and is a bit meaningless.
