Found an image of NGC 1491 in Star Hopping for Backyard Astronomers by Alan McRobert and decided it might make a good target.

Used my modified Nikon D5100 unfiltered, on a 115 EDT APO frac. There are 17 subs with a mix of 2, 3 and 5 min durations. All processing PI.

In my opinion not worth it, I've spent almost 30 hours on this target and regret it. The center is really bright but the rest is so faint that in order to produce noiseless images you need so much time and the night sky is full of much nicer objects.

I'll have another session this in Ha - there's certainly better targets around
