Did I see a satellite?

Recommended Posts

I just tracked a moving object in my binos. I picked it up in Pegasus, it then passed through Andromeda, right past M31 (I can find it accidentally now!) beforedisappearingbehind clouds in the direction of (I'm guessing) Capella. Nothing flashing and complete silence. Viewed from SE Cornwall at around 7:30 btw.

I'm guessing it was a satellite. An way of finding out what it was?

You can go to heavens-above.com, register, set up your location, and then look up satellites for last night to find one at the time, and following the path of the one you saw. They provide a map which show what constellations the satellite passes.
