Took this one with just my 300mm lens rather than the ED80. Really pleased with the results.  How could I improve this further?

Nice image. Did you do any post processing on it ? I took the liberty and auto balanced rgb in registax and sharpened once in photoshop, hope you don't mind  

The dark art of post processing is still a mystery to me to be honest   but even just auto balancing the rgb helps sometimes

I did a little bit of post processing in lightroom just curves white balance and a bit of sharpening on the craters.

Nice shot. How does it compare to your results through the ED80? The scope should give better resolution?

It compares quite favourably although the ED80 definitely captures more fine detail. I’m really looking forward to getting a full moon shot with the ED80 after this.

Got a pic with the ED80 last night although the differences between this one and the 300mm lens are pretty subtle. Not sure I can take the moon any further without either a Barlow or a planetary cam. I did take some footage with my gpcam 2 but haven’t had tine to stack it yet.
