It's at times like this that I'm glad to be fortunate enough to own a large solar telescope. Small details become large enough to be interesting and even spicules can be examined for comparative detail. The small latest sunspot area shows considerable disturbance features, reminders of the schooldays iron filings and magnets experiments.
