Cepheus and Planets

Started at Jupiter great seeing last night went up to x125 nice bands 4 moons one very close to the Planet.

Into Cepheus

Kappa Cephei (SAO 0096 65) Close pair off white with a lovely pale blue companion.

β Cephei (SAO 0100 57) Lovely white star with a tiny speck of green 

ΟΣ 451 (SAO 0196 77) pair of white very close stars 

Σ 2840 (SAO 0338 17) white twins easily split.

Σ2873 (0036 75) Very easy yellow orange pair 15mm sufficed.

ξ Cephei (Xi)   (SAO 0198 27)  Close but lovely white primary with a blue companion.

Saturn came up so looked at that and took a couple of pictures easily see Titan on the left of it.  Thought I would be able see Cassini division thought I did with averted vision but it was over the top of a house so wasn't that sharp.

Back to Cepheus

Σ2872  (SAO 0341 01) I must of got this mixed up with another one how I don't know i could see a pair of white twins but on reviewing Haas see it's a triple with bc stars not split.

Σ2883  (SAO 0199 22) white primary with small grey dot companion.

δ Cephei  (SAO 0345 08) Lovely orange and blue pair

Σ2923  (0104 18)  White with a tiny dot for a companion

Σ2816  (SAO 0336 26) Nick told me look at this in IC 1396  it was not disappointing beautiful colours green yellow and violet one not to miss.

Mu Cephei  (SAO 0336 93) This is unmissable beautiful bright orange star a must see.

Mars was out stunning orange no features as the storm has churned the dust up wiping out any features.

Nice report Wookie. I’ve not been doing much double star viewing lately, been concentrating more on the planets, but a nice haul you got there. Well done!
