Monocular as a finder

Hi. I have a Mag 1 portaball which is very weight sensitive. I'd like to add a finder of some type other than the Rigel which i use. I was thinking that maybe a monocular 8 x 25 might do the job and have a corrected image too. Maybe even half a set of cheep small binoculars. I'm not sure which light weight bracket to use. Astroboot sells some for 9 x 30 finders. I have no idea what might fit. Any ideas?

Personally I find straight through finders rather difficult to use - bit of a strain on the neck near zenith. I'd be inclined to seek out a very light weight 5 x 30 right angle finder perhaps?
