Quick trip outside for the first time in months too cold for anymore than half hour

went out with 3 targets. Snowman crater on the moon. pleiades and orion nebula

never looked for the last 2 before as only had telescope a couple of months non but Pleiades blew me off my chair

i was amazed to find the nebula too. No colour but still amazed.

Great night even if I have got frostbite

Orion is great to look at for a newbie?

Orion is nice and easy to find ,and plus it has the benefits of M42 ,M43 being so impressive to look at for a first timer. You do not need lots of aperture to get M42 , M43 to jump out at you. A pair of binoculars or a decent size telescope and you can really appreciate this nebula. M42, M43 is a mass of gas where stars are born. Not only is M42,M43 very interesting to look at , but knowing its purpose is also fascinating.

I still find visiting M42, M43 region of the sky a joy even though I have seen it many hundreds of time ?
