EQ5 or EQ6 - Which Mount is Orion Atlas Pro

Hello,

I know this has been discussed before and I think I have read that the Orion Atlas Pro is indeed an EQ6 mount. I am looking to see about the PEC on the mount which I have heard is not so critical for this mount. On ShoestringAstronomy where I buy accessories for my mount I have always bought the one's for EQ5 because my mount is equipped with an RJ45 jack whereas the EQ6, a more advanced mount, is equipped with a regular RS232 jack. It makes it unclear to me what the Atlas Pro is.

Orion Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G is an AZ-EQ6, which has an RJ45 port.

Whereas the Orion Atlas EQ-G is an EQ6, which has an RS232 port on the original model & an RJ45 on the newer EQ6-R model.

The Orion SkyView is an EQ5.

The Orion Sirius range is based around the HEQ5.

 

So, the question is, when did you buy it, and is it an AZ-EQ mount, or just an EQ mount...
