Project Apollo

Recommended Posts

This is a composite image showing the sites of all six successful Apollo Moon landings with the moon at the same scale.

Images were all taken on 27 October 2017 using a 150PL with x3 Barlow on an EQ3 tripod using a ZWO ASI120MC camera. The majority of the images contained very little useful colour information, aside from that for Apollo 11, so they are all presented here in mono. The Apollo 12 landing site was rather close to the terminator and that of Apollo 14, so it was decided to place these on the same image.

Pre-processed in PIPP, stacked in Registax and AS!3 (according to which worked best on each image), processed in Registax/Astra Image. Final compilation and labels in Corel Draw, then converted to PNG in Astra.
