Astronomy Tools - Thumbs up for Clear Outside

Just a short post to say thanks for this resource , it's damned accurate :-)

having spent some time last week digging out an old acer netbook. Installing Stellarium and after some fiddling about , linking it to my Alt Az synscan controller, I've been itching for a clear sky to test it. No go, bbc forecast rubbishy for this week.

Then I looked at the resources section of SGL and found Clear outside. The indications were for a window of opportunity last night between 2000 and 2100 hrs. I looked outside and 1930 and it was wall to wall cloud. Nothing ventured etc so I set off for a dark site some 30 mins away and set up. Just a wee [removed word] in the clouds now. Then low and behold around 2010 the cloud cleared to the east and I spent the next hour enjoying the new set up.

So thank you SGL  this is the best weather prediction I've seen yet .

Glad you're finding it accurate. My experience is that it's a bit hit and miss. I use Ventusky and find it more accurate, and gives a clue as to what sort of weather is heading my direction.
