Dob to SCT - what to expect ?

just to update this, ive gone for a Nexstar Evolution 8 HD, its a shame ive had to buy a different scope but hopefully this will better suit my needs

If interested in any dso imaging you will need a EQ mount..alt az  just won't cut it as limited on exposure times..

You will need dew shield/ bands..a decent power tank..collimation holds well but don't take too long to check it..and give it an hour for it to aclimatise..

Are you visual or an imager?

my mount has the battery built in and its coming with a dew shield

also i believe it has something called faststar which means you can image faster ? i know nothing about it whatsoever lol

You can Google for faststar. IIRC it entails removing the secondary mirror and replacing it with a camera, exploiting the fact that the primary mirror is f2.
