MAXIM DL v6.14 Beta released today 23/06/2017

For MAXIM DL v6 users with current subscriptions the long awaited v6.14 has been released today as a beta1.

You can't get this using the "Check for Updates" function inside MAXIM but have to log into the Diffraction support forum, look in the registered customers section, MAXIM DL directory, the link to the new beta is posted.

Installing the beta does not overwrite the existing version, just changes the program icon to point to the beta so that you can go back to the old version without pain if the beta proves unstable.

Many changes to the guiding algorithm were proposed for this version to hopefully improve on the dreaded "Star Faded" messages. Other changes include support for recent DSLR models.

Not sure what the implications of installing the beta will be for Maxim dependent observatory control programs such as ACP etc so be sure to have a disk image backup before installing the beta to quickly restore your system should the beta cause problems with integrated observatory systems.
