Advantages of carbon fiber tube refractor.

Recommended Posts

None that I can think of.

Same objective at the front, apparently takes longer to equalise temperature as it is a better insulator. Not sure if it would be stronger or less prone to damage if dropped. Seriously suspect a dropped Al item gets a dent, a dropped CF one could be a new OTA. CF does not dent.  Don't personally like the carbon fibre effect, looks too much like a cheap marketting job to sell more rather then an engineering solution. ***Buy your carbon fibre go faster scope here***. Would you think your PC mouse was better if it was a CF finished one ?

Our Carbon Travel Refractor is lighter than a comparable refractor and it does not suffer any sort of thermal issues under extremes of temperature.

We regularly use it for White Light Solar in exceptionally hot climates and also for nocturnal viewing in sub zero temperatures in the Arctic...
