Nathan UK
Hi I was just looking at my scope, on removing the dust cap I noticed white dots on the inside of the scope, not on the mirrors but the inner tube..... i did keep the scope in the garage for a period so I'm wondering if this could be a type of mold or dry dew? If so do I need to worry? What should I do? Thanks
noah4x4
Suggest you ignore unless it worsens. Opening up your scope to clean it is likely to cause far more trouble. It is possible that some moisture has penetrated, but if it has dried it is unlikely to worsen.
alanjgreen
Probably just dust. unless your mirror is obliterated in dirt, or has mouldy on it, then don't do anything. best not to look down the wrong end of the tube!! just look through the right end and enjoy the view. It needs a LOT of dirt to make any difference to the "contrast" of your view. cleaning may only make matters worse and is only done as a last resort
