A rather ropey M42

Lovely session this evening in Orion, caught a peek at the flame albeit fleetingly with averted vision which is a delightful end to 2016.

By the time I got around to sketching M42, the neighbour's heating exhaust was chucking out steam like nobody's business but I persevered and sketched anyway.

I think I'm a little off with dimensions/proportions etc but considering conditions quite pleased to capture what I did.

photographed on iPhone and inverted in PS, will do it with the scanner when I get a better sketch next time.

Looks good to me John. Totally clouded out here for the last few weeks. In fact since my 120ED arrived. Is that a coincidence?

Very nice John! It's difficult when inconsiderate neighbours insist on trying to keep warm, but your persistence paid off.
