I have a Celestron 130SLT scope which is on an Alt Az mount. My friend is gifting me his spare Celestron GT mount and tripod to give me EQ tracking abilities. How can I mount the Celestron tube onto the mount? I haven't seen it (he is actually carrying it hand luggage from the States!) but I am assuming some sort of mounting loops will be available?

It should mount on, one question is which 130SLT? I ask as I am sure I have read both reflector and SCT for these.

I think at worst you would need a set of suitable rings for your scope and then a dovetail to connect rings (with scope inside) to the mount head. I would have thought that you already have a dovetail on your scope so it might be a case of simply bolt yours directly on to the mount or get a different dovetail if yours is the wrong one and swap them over.
