Andromeda , new sights.

Some fine out of the usual ones from an old list . Very clean and enjoyable little session before the glow of the gibbous moon.

Σ40 (SAO 053999) +6.5 +8.7 at 11.6" , a nice delicate companion.

δ Andromedae (SAO 054058) a wide a very faint companion.

Σ47 a wide and lovely sight.

η Andromedae (SAO 074388) a very wide and faint companion.

Σ79 (SAO 036833), near even twins at 7.9"   Quite stunning.

Σ108 (SAO 054592), delicate companion at 6.4".

Σ179 (SAO 055058) another pair of stunning twins at 3.5".

South 404 (SAO  037658), lovely and delicate at 29.0".

These were caught with the 102. I tried the challenging 1.1" split of 36 Andromedae. Using a 5.5mm ep , at focus there was a slight bright peanut. Slightly defocussing the diffraction rings snapped open and separated. Either the optics or the seeing, but never seen that happen so cleanly.

Andromeda is a good area for an early scan around , don't forget the gorgeous Almach while you're up there under
